1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of this website and any consultation you book with Dr Nikesh Devani. By browsing and booking an appointment you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with the privacy policy govern the relationship between you and my practice.

2. Medical Disclaimer & Non-Emergency Warning

2.1 No Doctor-Patient Relationship

The information, articles, media, and other content provided on this website are for informational and educational purposes only. Accessing, reading, or interacting with this website, including submitting forms or sending messages, does not create or constitute a doctor-patient relationship.

2.2 Not Medical Advice

Nothing on this website should be taken or construed as medical advice, diagnosis, or a recommendation for treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional regarding any medical condition, symptoms, or treatment options. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read on this website.

2.3 Medical Emergencies Notice

THIS WEBSITE AND ITS CONTACT FORMS ARE NOT FOR MEDICAL EMERGENCIES.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, life-threatening symptoms, or severe distress, do not use this website or email to seek help. Please immediately:

  • Call emergency services (999 in the UK / 911 in the US / 112 in Europe)
  • Go to the nearest hospital Emergency Department (A&E)

2.4 Communication Limits

Electronic communications sent through website contact forms, booking systems, or general email are not monitored 24/7. Response times may vary. Do not submit urgent clinical inquiries or confidential medical histories via unsecured general website forms.

3. Booking and payment

Consultation fees are set out on the Fees page. Self-pay fees are payable at the time of booking or by invoice in accordance with the booking process. Insurance-covered appointments are billed to your insurer where pre-authorisation is in place; any excess or shortfall is payable by you.

4. Cancellation and non-attendance

We understand that schedules can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify us as early as possible.

  • More than 24 hours’ notice: full refund (self-pay) or free reschedule.
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice or non-attendance: 50% of the appointment fee is charged.

4.1 Late Arrivals

Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you arrive late, your appointment time may be shortened to avoid delaying subsequent patients, while the full appointment fee will still apply. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may be unable to see you, and this will be treated as a cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice (subject to the 50% fee).

4.2 Practice Cancellations

In the rare event that Dr Devani needs to cancel or reschedule your appointment due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., clinician illness or emergency), we will notify you as soon as possible. You will be offered an alternative appointment time or a 100% full refund of any fees or deposits paid for that session.

5. Clinical records

Contemporaneous clinical records are kept in line with GMC and NHS records-management guidance. Your personal information is handled confidentially and in accordance with UK data protection law.
For further details please see the privacy policy.

6. Professional regulation and complaints

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under English law. Subject to that, my liability arising out of or in connection with a consultation is limited to the fee paid for that consultation.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
